This e-book constitutes the refereed lawsuits of the 4th foreign Joint convention an Ambient Intelligence, AmI 2013, held in Dublin, eire, in December 2013. The 15 revised complete papers, four papers from the panorama song, three papers from the doctoral colloquium and six demo and poster papers have been rigorously reviewed and chosen from a variety of submissions and are offered with 6 workshop descriptions. The papers hide quite a few multi-disciplinary subject matters in computing device technological know-how, human desktop interplay, electric engineering, business layout, behavioral sciences, dispensed units, ubiquitous and verbal exchange applied sciences, pervasive computing, clever person interfaces and synthetic intelligence.

Metal–Ceramic Interfaces. Proceedings of an International Workshop

As engineering fabrics and constructions usually include a steel or steel alloy bonded to a ceramic, the consequent interface needs to be in a position to maintain mechanical forces with no failure. additionally they play a major position in oxidation or aid of fabrics. The workshop on 'Bonding, constitution and Mechanical homes of Metal/Ceramic Interfaces' used to be held in January 1989 in the Acta/Scripta Metallurgica convention sequence.

Virtual Realities: International Dagstuhl Seminar, Dagstuhl Castle, Germany, June 9-14, 2013, Revised Selected Papers

Digital fact (VR) is a multidisciplinary sector of study geared toward interactive human–computer-mediated simulations of synthetic environments. a tremendous element of VR-based platforms is the stimulation of the human senses – often sight, sound, and contact – in this type of means consumer feels a feeling of presence within the digital surroundings.

For this we rely on previous work from the area of activity recognition, intention analysis and strategy synthesis as described in Section 2. First attempts have been made to add explanation capabilities to different algorithms as investigated for example within the Exact workshops [25] over the last years. But to the best of our knowledge there are almost no real systems able to provide assistance in some physical environment and able to explain what happens. Exception are [27] in which a small museum like installation has been constructed and [20] in which alerts within an AMI environment are validated.
